NoiseBreaker Ear Plugs For The Emergency Services

As specialist suppliers and manufacturers, we provide custom-made hearing protection to the emergency services who are often subjected to extreme noise that could cause long-term damage. Our ambulance, fire service and police ear plugs perfectly fit each individual and provide complete hearing protection. Because each one is custom-made, our NoiseBreaker ear plugs do not move even under strenuous activity, hence they provide laboratory levels of protection in any environment.

The Emtec NoiseBreaker® is a personally moulded and vented earplug. It is a silicone rubber moulding which is tailor-made to each individual concha bowl and ear canal. It can be comfortably worn in combination with other PPE including, for example, breathing apparatus, helmets and safety glasses.

Our NoiseBreakers are a great environmental choice; made of a medical grade silicone rubber (a derivative of silica), they have no adverse effect on the environment.

Unlike some products, our NoiseBreakers are permanent solutions for hearing protection, subsequently eliminating the waste that can ensue from disposable ear plugs.

NoiseBreakers are custom-made meaning each outer surface can be individually drilled, acting as a housing for a communications earpiece. Providing clear radio reception, even in a high noise environment, the radio voice is protected from the surrounding noise and travels directly down the NoiseBreakers’ through-channel.

The NoiseBreaker

The fact that NoiseBreakers® are individually tailored has a number of advantages; namely they are comfortable and therefore achieve a high level of acceptance by the wearer, in contrast to the conventional disposable plugs and ear muffs. Also they allow the wearer to communicate easily, but at the same time afford excellent protection.

Attenuation Data

H 28
M 21
L 17
SNR 25.3

Due to the perfect fit of NoiseBreakers, they work in the real world as they do in the laboratory and therefore the Standard Deviation is minimal. Hence to get a true picture of the attenuation of NoiseBreakers, the Mean Attenuation at each frequency is the key number, rather than the SNR (Single Number Rating)

Attenuation details on NoiseBreakers tested at Salford University Department of Applied Acoustics EN352-2:2002.
